Patna, May 2: Discussions regarding the expansion of the cabinet in Bihar have intensified. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary met with former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence on Circular Road on Saturday. This meeting, which lasted about half an hour, is considered significant.
It is believed that the two leaders discussed potential cabinet expansion during their meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary shared a picture of the meeting on the social networking site X, stating, “Today, I had a warm meeting with former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence. I drew inspiration from his experiences and guidance.”
Earlier, Nitish Kumar also held discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and former minister Ashok Chaudhary. These ongoing meetings have heightened speculation in political circles, with connections being drawn to the upcoming Bihar visit of JDU leader Nishant Kumar.
It is noteworthy that a change in power occurred in Bihar on April 15, following Nitish Kumar’s resignation as Chief Minister. Currently, the Chief Minister and the two Deputy Chief Ministers hold the responsibility for all departments, which has led to continuous questioning from opposition leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav.
Reports suggest that the new cabinet may see the return of many familiar faces, while the BJP may also introduce some new members. In the previous government, the BJP had two Deputy Chief Ministers and 14 ministers, while JDU had nine ministers, including the Chief Minister.
