Shajapur, September 6 (Udaipur Kiran) : A serious bus accident occurred late last night on National Highway 52 in Shajapur district, Madhya Pradesh, leaving more than 29 passengers injured, including women and children. Reports indicate that two individuals are in critical condition. All the injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident took place near the Thukrana junction while a passenger bus was en route from Sironj to Indore. Eyewitnesses stated that the bus collided with the divider in the middle of the highway after the driver apparently lost control. The impact was severe, causing significant damage to the front of the bus and resulting in panic among the passengers.
According to sources, there were over 50 people aboard the bus at the time of the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have dozed off, leading to the collision.
Upon receiving news of the accident, Station House Officer Santosh Kumar Waghela and his team arrived at the scene. They quickly called for emergency services and ambulances, ensuring that all injured individuals were transported to Shajapur District Hospital, which helped avert a more catastrophic situation.
Waghela informed the media, “The bus from Patidar Travels was traveling from Sironj to Indore when the accident occurred near the Shajapur bypass. Many people have been injured, and they have all been taken to the district hospital.”
The influx of injured passengers created a chaotic scene at the hospital, prompting the medical team to be mobilized immediately for treatment. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manisha Vaskle and Tehsildar Gaurav Porwal also arrived at the hospital to oversee the situation and provide instructions for better care for the injured.
Currently, treatment for all injured passengers is ongoing at the district hospital. Given the severity of their injuries, two passengers have been referred to Indore for advanced medical care after receiving initial treatment. Civil Surgeon Dr. Maina confirmed that a total of 29 patients were admitted, with the driver and his assistant in critical condition, while others sustained minor injuries and have been moved to wards for further care.
