London, September 6 (Udaipur Kiran) : Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), addressed the ‘Celebration of Unity’ event in London on September 6, where he articulated that a Hindu is not merely an individual but represents family, community, society, and humanity as a whole. He emphasized that Hindus do not just worship nature but also cherish it, asserting that this love forms the foundation of unity, character building, and the operational ethos of the organization.
Bhagwat explained that Hindu philosophy is rooted in the belief that “existence is one, even if it appears in diverse forms.” He noted that diversity is a natural aspect of nature, and accepting and respecting it is central to Hindu thought.
If the RSS had to be defined by a single principle, it would be “belongingness,” he stated. According to him, this concept embodies pure and virtuous love for all, which is traditionally characteristic of Hindus. He urged that the various forms of diversity should be seen as different adornments of the unity of existence.
Expressing confidence in future generations, Bhagwat remarked that he has greater faith in the youth, who possess a desire to improve the world. He encouraged providing them with goals rather than methods, believing they would swiftly achieve the aims of universal morality and prosperity.
In response to questions regarding the loyalty of Hindus in Britain, Bhagwat clarified that there is no conflict. He asserted that if such a situation were to arise, British Hindus would remain loyal to the UK. He explained that the work environment is where a person’s loyalty lies, while the birthplace and sacred land provide one’s values and traditions. The essence of Hinduism is to apply these values in service to one’s work environment.
Highlighting the extensive activities of the RSS, Bhagwat noted that its volunteers are active in nearly every field of human life, making it challenging to summarize their contributions in a few words. He pointed out that even those who oppose the organization for political reasons recognize the efforts and virtues of its volunteers, often seeking collaboration and dialogue on significant issues. This, he argued, reflects the broad acceptance of the RSS’s work within society.
