Patna, September 6 (Udaipur Kiran) : Heavy rainfall in Bihar has significantly impacted train operations, particularly on the Patna-Gaya railway line. As water levels rose on bridge number 21 between Punpun and Parsa Bazar, the railways canceled multiple train services for safety reasons.
According to the East Central Railway, the water level increased at the bridge located between kilometer markers 11/38-32, prompting an immediate suspension of train services from around 10 PM on September 4 until further notice. On Monday, ten MEMU trains were announced as canceled, including routes from Gaya to Patna and vice versa.
In a bid to manage the situation, the railway authorities have decided to reroute some express and MEMU trains. For instance, the Gaya-Patna MEMU will now operate from the Manpur point to facilitate the Rajgir service. The Hatiya-Purnia Court Express will also take an alternative route via Bakhtiyarpur link, Rajgir, Tilaiya Junction, and other stations.
Passengers are advised to check the operational status of their trains and the revised routes before traveling. Regular services will resume only after the water levels return to normal and the engineering department grants approval.
