Udaipur, September 6, 2026: The campus of Pacific College in Chitrakoot Nagar turned into a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition and enthusiasm on Saturday as students celebrated Janmashtami with a Dahi Handi event along with Teachers’ Day.
The programme began with songs and dance performances depicting the spirit of Lord Krishna’s birth celebrations. Students brought scenes from Krishna’s childhood, Radha-Krishna’s leelas and Braj culture to the stage through dance and acting.
Colourful costumes and expressive performances created an atmosphere reminiscent of the festive spirit of Vrindavan. A colourful dress competition was also a major attraction, with participants dressed as Krishna, Radha and traditional Indian characters. Their presentation, expressions and costumes reflected creativity and glimpses of Indian cultural traditions.
Dahi Handi Brings Excitement
Union Chairperson Ashish Agrawal said the Dahi Handi competition was the most exciting part of the celebration.
As the challenge of reaching the Dahi Handi began, the enthusiasm of the students filled the campus with applause, cheering and chants. Participants displayed team spirit, balance and courage as they attempted to reach the pot, bringing the traditional celebration to life.
Teachers Honoured on Teachers’ Day
Amid the celebrations, Teachers’ Day added an emotional dimension to the programme. Students expressed their respect and gratitude towards their teachers and described their guidance as an important force in shaping their lives.
Pacific College Principal Dr Rimjhim Gupta said Rehan, Shafil and Zaid won the Best Dress (Male) category, while Akshara, Niyati Siya and Sahiba won the Best Dress (Female) category.
In the dance competitions, Ayesha won Best Dance (Solo), while Ayesha-Rehan won the Group Dance category. Siya-Lakshita also emerged winners in the group dance category.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants who performed exceptionally in various competitions, including song and dance, dress and Dahi Handi, were awarded prizes.
The Pacific College celebration became a memorable blend of festivity, tradition, talent and respect for teachers.
