Jaipur, March 4, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a Gram Vikas Adhikari and his son in Sirohi district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.

The action was taken by the Sirohi unit of the ACB under directions from the ACB Headquarters. The accused, Laxmi Lal, Gram Vikas Adhikari of Gram Panchayat Anadara under Panchayat Samiti Reodar in Sirohi district, along with his son Akhilesh Kumar, was caught red-handed while accepting ₹1 lakh from a complainant.
According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the bureau received a complaint alleging that the accused was demanding a bribe for issuing construction approval on a residential plot in the name of the complainant’s wife in village Amla Kheda under Gram Panchayat Anadara. The complainant also alleged that during demarcation of his plot, a previously constructed CC road of the Gram Panchayat was damaged, and the accused was demanding money to avoid initiating legal action in this matter.
Acting under the close supervision of Deputy Inspector General Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav of ACB Range Jodhpur and led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rameshwarlal of ACB Sirohi, the team laid a trap. During the operation, the accused allegedly got ₹1 lakh accepted through his son and sent him away from the spot.
After careful questioning using psychological techniques, the ACB team, with the assistance of the Gram Vikas Adhikari, recovered the bribe amount of ₹1 lakh from an empty plot in their colony, based on the disclosure made by co-accused Akhilesh Kumar.
Under the supervision of Additional Director General Smita Srivastava, further questioning of the accused and subsequent legal proceedings are underway. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and initiated further investigation.
