Jaipur, August 18: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Sikar unit arrested four police personnel of the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ayodhya after allegedly catching them red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2.80 lakh.

The action was carried out on Tuesday under the directions of the ACB headquarters. The arrested personnel have been identified as Sub-Inspector Yashwant Singh, Constable Pawan Tripathi (No. 152253646), Constable Sohanlal (No. 162170782) and Constable Gaurav Charg (No. 192250681).
Rs 4 Lakh Bribe Demand Reduced to Rs 2.80 Lakh
According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, a complainant had approached the bureau alleging that the accused police personnel were demanding a bribe to remove his brother’s name from a case registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ayodhya district, under FIR No. 22/2024.
Following the complaint, verification of the alleged bribe demand was conducted on August 17, 2026. During the verification, Constable Gaurav Charg allegedly demanded Rs 4 lakh from the complainant. During subsequent discussions, the bribe amount was agreed at Rs 2.80 lakh.
Four Police Personnel Arrested in Trap Operation
After confirmation of the demand, the ACB Sikar team conducted a trap operation under the supervision of ACB Jaipur Deputy Inspector General Dr Rameshwar Singh.
The operation was led by ACB Sikar Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar, with Police Inspector Subhash Meel and his team.
During the operation, in the presence of Sub-Inspector Yashwant Singh, Constables Pawan Tripathi, Sohanlal and Gaurav Charg, Constable Sohanlal allegedly received Rs 2.80 lakh from the complainant.
Following the transaction, the ACB team arrested all four accused police personnel.
Further Investigation Underway
Questioning of the accused and further proceedings are underway under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala.
The ACB will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and conduct further investigation in the matter.
