Rajasthan Police Gets New Tech Push for Smart Policing

Jaipur, August 19: Rajasthan Police is working to improve its technical skills to deal with cyber challenges in the digital age. As part of this effort, a three-day range-level training programme on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security Based Smart Policing’ was organised jointly by Kota City Police and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kota.

The training programme concluded on Wednesday. It was organised from August 17 to 19 under the guidance of Kota Range IG Harendra Mahawar and on the initiative of Kota City Police Commissioner? The main aim of the programme was to train police officers and personnel in modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security, cyber crime investigation and OSINT. The training was aimed at helping police deal with changing digital crimes in a more effective and scientific way.

75 Police Personnel Receive Certificates

During the closing ceremony, chief guest ADG V.K. Singh presented certificates to 75 police officers and personnel from Kota City and Kota Range who successfully completed the training.

ADG V.K. Singh praised IG Harendra Mahawar for his technical approach and SP Tejaswani Gautam for the initiative. He said connecting policing with modern technology is the need of the present time.

He said practical training in AI, cyber security and OSINT will further improve the investigation and crime control skills of the police.

He also said that the joint effort of Kota City Police and IIIT Kota gave police personnel an opportunity to understand advanced technologies and use them in police work. He said the initiative will be an important step towards smart, technology-based and citizen-focused policing.

Training Started on August 17

The training programme was inaugurated on August 17 by Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma.

During the training, police personnel were given information about cyber crime investigation, use of digital evidence, AI-based technical tools and analysis of digital information through OSINT, along with other modern technical aspects.

Police and IIIT Kota Work Together

IIIT Kota course coordinator Professor Gyan Singh and his team played an important role in successfully conducting the programme.

The joint effort between the police and the educational and technical institute gave police personnel an opportunity to develop a practical understanding of modern technology.

The training programme is an important step towards smart policing in Rajasthan Police. The use of technical skills, data-based policing and emerging technologies such as AI is expected to strengthen crime investigation and help provide safer, faster and more effective police services to citizens.
