Strengthening Economic Ties Between India and the U.S.: Sergio Gor

New Delhi, September 7 (Udaipur Kiran) : U.S. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, announced on September 7 that the economic partnership between India and the United States is rapidly strengthening. Speaking in New Delhi, he emphasized the opportunities available for American companies in India. Following discussions with Amazon officials about the company’s presence in India and the increasing prospects for U.S. businesses, Gor noted on social media platform ‘X’ that “American innovation is a significant force worldwide.”

During his visit to Bengaluru, Gor highlighted the collaboration in southern India, stating that it is enhancing innovation, investment, and the supply chain for critical minerals. He pointed out that the relationship is particularly flourishing in the fields of space technology, artificial intelligence, and trade.

After meeting Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Gor mentioned initiatives like Pax Silica and Trust that aim to create opportunities for both American and Indian industries. He also met with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya from Bengaluru South, where they discussed how the U.S.-India partnership can continue to promote growth, innovation, and opportunities.

Earlier this month, Gor revealed that Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal would travel to the U.S. at the end of September for the G20 trade ministers’ meeting, where discussions on the ongoing bilateral trade agreement negotiations would take place.

At the 66th annual session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Gor reiterated the commitment of both nations to strengthen their trade relations, noting significant progress in ongoing discussions. He also announced that Goyal would visit the U.S. in the coming weeks as Washington prepares to host G20 talks, emphasizing that both governments are working toward trade relations that are fair, reciprocal, and beneficial for both sides.
