Jaipur, May 18 (Udaipur Kiran) — A two-day intensive checking drive conducted by the Rajasthan Police across the state created panic among criminals, traffic violators, and anti-social elements. Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, police teams set up 810 checking points and inspected more than 47,000 vehicles during the special operation.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) V K Singh said the drive was conducted on major routes across different police ranges. On May 16, intensive checking was carried out between 7 pm and 10 pm in Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota ranges, while on May 17, operations were conducted from 3 am to 6 am in Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Jaipur ranges.
During the campaign, police checked 24,573 two-wheelers and 22,531 four-wheelers and launched strict action against traffic rule violators.
A total of 11,504 cases were registered under the Motor Vehicles Act. The action included 757 cases of drunk driving, 1,667 cases of riding without helmets, 1,484 cases of driving without seat belts, 191 cases of using mobile phones while driving, 1,438 cases involving suspicious or numberless vehicles, and 1,017 cases related to black film on vehicles.
Among all ranges, Udaipur recorded the highest number of Motor Vehicles Act actions with 2,647 cases, followed by Ajmer with 2,576. Jaipur range reported 1,795 cases, Kota 1,768, Bharatpur 1,735, Jodhpur 968, and Bikaner 15.
In the second phase of the campaign, Rajasthan Police arrested 274 persons during action against criminals, smugglers, and anti-social elements. Police registered 12 cases under the Arms Act, 41 under the Excise Act, 10 under the NDPS Act, and 62 under other special and local laws.
Out of the total arrests, 73 accused were arrested in various FIRs and cases, while preventive action was taken against 201 persons under BNSS provisions.
Police also seized illegal weapons, liquor, and suspicious vehicles during the operation. In Kota range, police recovered five sharp weapons, 120 bottles of country liquor, and two litres of illicit liquor, besides seizing 27 vehicles. Bharatpur range police recovered five litres of illegal liquor and seized 61 suspicious vehicles under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
ADG V K Singh said such joint operations would continue in the future to strengthen crime control, road safety, and curb suspicious activities.
