New Delhi, June 22: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has addressed a viral video circulating on social media regarding the NEET (UG) 2026 examination, labeling it as fake. In a post on social media platform X, the NTA stated that the video contains false claims and is intended to mislead students. The examination was conducted successfully today under strict security and monitoring.
The NTA emphasized that creating and deliberately spreading such misinformation to deceive or intimidate students is a serious offense. The agency, in collaboration with I4C and law enforcement agencies, is taking action against those responsible for generating this content.
The NTA appeals to students, parents, and the general public to verify information only through official websites and NTA’s official links, urging them not to propagate such misleading content. Over 2 million candidates have the right to a peaceful and fair examination process.
Meanwhile, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh provided insights on the successful conduct of the NEET re-examination on Sunday. He discussed the organization of the exam, security arrangements, candidate numbers, results, counseling processes, and measures taken to restore student confidence. Singh noted that the examination was conducted under extremely challenging circumstances, but with the cooperation of various agencies, including central and state governments, it was completed successfully.
He highlighted that organizing the nationwide examination just 37 days after the previous one was canceled posed a significant challenge. Various ministries of the central government, state governments, security agencies, paramilitary forces, railways, air force, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of External Affairs played crucial roles in this effort. The examination was successfully conducted with the support of parents, students, educational institutions, exam centers, teachers, inspectors, and center supervisors.
Regarding the number of candidates participating in the re-examination, Singh mentioned that the number was naturally lower this time, as many students opted for other colleges or alternatives. The examination was held at 5,440 centers across the country and 14 centers abroad, with over 2 million candidates participating. According to him, the peaceful and organized conduct of such a large-scale examination is a significant achievement.
