New Delhi, September 2: Every year on September 2, World Coconut Day is celebrated. In India, the coconut is not just a fruit; it is a significant element linked to culture, faith, health, and the economy. On this occasion, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan extended heartfelt greetings to all coconut-producing farmers.
In a post on the social media platform X, Chouhan stated, “The coconut holds special importance in Indian culture. It is considered extremely auspicious and beneficial. Coconuts are dedicated during religious festivals, prayers, and various auspicious occasions. It is one of the most favored fruits in India, used in sweets, various dishes, and other products. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our farmers, the production, export, and trade of coconuts in the country continue to grow.”
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Bhagirath Chaudhary, also conveyed his best wishes for World Coconut Day, highlighting that the coconut is a unique gift from nature, beneficial not only for worship but also for health.
BJP MLA Ajay Singh posted on his social media platform X, stating, “World Coconut Day is celebrated to raise awareness about coconuts, highlight their importance, and attract national and international attention to this crop.”
BJP leader Gopal Chaturvedi wished farmers well, saying, “The coconut is a fruit deeply connected to our lives. Besides religious rituals, it is now a significant source of employment. Nurture and promote this wonderful fruit, known as ‘Shreephal,’ as it enhances prosperity.”
