Jaipur, August 11 (H.S.) — Several districts of Rajasthan, including Baran, Bharatpur, Dausa, Sikar and Jhunjhunu, received light to moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours. Some areas recorded up to two inches of rain, while Jaipur, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur and nearby districts witnessed cloudy weather throughout the day. In contrast, western Rajasthan remained dry, with temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius.

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, no rainfall alert has been issued for the state until August 14. However, the monsoon is expected to become active again from August 15, bringing heavy rain.
The department forecasts light to moderate rain in parts of Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur and Jaipur divisions of eastern Rajasthan from August 11. The highest rainfall was recorded in Atru (Baran) at 50 mm, followed by 18 mm in Bandikui (Dausa), 8 mm in Udaipurwati (Jhunjhunu), 10 mm in Hindaun (Karauli), 6 mm in Khanpur (Jhalawar) and 6 mm in Laxmangarh (Sikar).
Weather experts said the monsoon trough is currently positioned north of its normal alignment, passing through Faridkot, Ludhiana, Shahjahanpur, Ballia and Jalpaiguri. This has weakened rainfall in core monsoon zone states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha.
