Gonda, June 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Gonda on Friday, just 13 days after his last trip. During his two-hour program, he reviewed presentations of proposals submitted by representatives from 33 assembly constituencies. A key focus was on improving connectivity to the revered Maa Pateshwari Shakti Peeth and other religious sites.
CM Yogi approved the development of 13 major routes connecting the Maa Pateshwari Devi Shakti Peeth in the Devipatan division, Swaminarayan Temple, and Makhaura Dham in Basti, among other significant religious locations. A total of over ₹4,901.65 crore was sanctioned for more than a thousand development projects. He also reviewed the Public Works Department’s projects at Maharaja Suheldev Auditorium and discussed new work plans with local representatives.
During the meeting, he assessed the progress of road and connectivity projects in the Devipatan division, which includes Gonda, Balrampur, Bahraich, and Shravasti, as well as development projects in the Basti division, including Basti, Siddharthnagar, and Sant Kabir Nagar. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to connect rural areas to main roads, reconstruct dilapidated roads, strengthen access routes, and oversee construction related to bridges and other infrastructure.
He instructed officials to complete pending projects in a timely manner and received updated progress reports on various development initiatives. The Chief Minister also inquired about the status of the pothole-free campaign and approved 810 projects under the Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, which will cost approximately ₹1,472.83 crore to construct 1,602 kilometers of roads, enhancing connectivity in rural areas. More than 50 roads will undergo widening and repairs.
CM Yogi reviewed presentations for development projects worth around ₹50 crore for each assembly constituency and discussed the status of these projects with local representatives. He prioritized proposals focused on improving connectivity and traffic flow in urban and rural areas, which included infrastructure development. The Chief Minister also reviewed ongoing projects in backward and aspirational block areas.
He approved the construction of two state highways, improved connectivity to major industrial areas, 81 small bridges, and seven large bridges. Additionally, he sanctioned bypass roads and overbridge projects to enhance traffic management in urban areas. Instructions were given for road safety initiatives in the Devipatan division, along with the approval for the construction of 12 helipads in rural areas of the district.
He also sought updates on specific repair works for various routes, including the Haradopatti access route, the Katra Bazaar-Panditpurwa Nahwa Parsora via Khajuha route, and the widening and strengthening of the Subhanpur Belwanohar route, among others.
