Theft at Noida Temple: Thieves Escape with Religious Items

Noida, June 19: A theft incident has been reported at a temple located in the Sikka Personnel Green Society in Noida. The incident occurred late at night when unknown thieves broke into the temple premises. The entire event was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the temple area. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

According to reports, two thieves entered the temple premises around 2:31 AM. CCTV footage shows the suspects roaming around the temple and planning the theft. They first targeted the donation box, attempting to break it open to access the cash inside. However, due to the box’s sturdy construction, they were unsuccessful.

It is reported that the thieves spent approximately 12 minutes trying to break the donation box. Failing to do so, they entered the temple and broke the lock of a cupboard, stealing various religious and worship items. The stolen items included a copper serpent placed on the Shivling, a bell used for prayers, a large lamp, an eternal flame lamp, a copper pitcher, brass lamps, and other religious materials.

After the theft, the culprits escaped by jumping out of a window. On Friday morning, when the temple priest arrived for regular prayers, he found the temple door open and the interior in disarray. Shocked by the situation, he immediately informed the society officials and residents. A large number of people gathered at the temple premises after receiving the news. The CCTV footage was reviewed, revealing the entire incident.

The priest promptly called the police on dial-112 to report the theft. Upon receiving the information, the police team arrived at the scene and inspected the area. They have seized the CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify and apprehend the suspects. Police officials stated that they are actively searching for the culprits based on the CCTV evidence and expect to make arrests soon.
