Apple reportedly has no plans to make hardware-related announcements at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The developer event is scheduled to begin on June 10 and will unveil the next versions of iOS, iPadOS and other Apple software. However, a new report suggests that it may just be a software issue and that no announcement about the next-generation Apple TV is expected.

WWDC 2024 has no hardware
Bloomberg’s Mark Garman suggested in the Power On newsletter that the Cupertino tech giant has no plans to unveil hardware at its developer conference.
“No hardware will be announced at WWDC unless Apple unexpectedly previews a new device it will launch in the future (just to be clear, I don’t expect that,” Apple analysts also said rumors). They ended up talking about the next-generation Apple TV, which was originally scheduled to launch in the first half of 2024.
In particular, Garman previously shared information about a new Apple TV with a faster processor and a lower price, which was expected to be announced at the developer conference. However, the analyst now says that the launch is “not imminent.”
what do you expect
Operating systems for several Apple devices will be unveiled at WWDC 2024, including iPhone, iPad and Mac. According to rumors, the next major iPhone update, iOS 18, could benefit from the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI).
Apple’s voice assistant Siri is expected to receive major updates, including the ability to ask follow-up questions without repeating information. Recent reports also suggest that Apple has signed a deal with OpenAI to provide its proprietary AI technology, including the conversational chatbot ChatGPT.
Gurman also reported that iOS 18 may introduce custom AI-based emoticons in addition to the iPhone’s existing emoji library. It also allows customization of screen layout and gives users more freedom in arranging icons.
However, Apple’s strategy is to keep everything secret until the announcement is made during the main event. So we’ll have to wait until WWDC 2024 begins to get a glimpse of everything Apple has in store for its users.
