Udaipur: Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of a boundary wall and development of a playground was held on Saturday at the school in Odwaria village of Gudli Gram Panchayat. The work will be undertaken by Zinc Smelter Debari under Hindustan Zinc’s rural development programme. It is expected to give the school playground a new identity while providing students with safer and better sports facilities.
The Bhoomi Pujan was performed by Vivek Yadav, SBU Director, Hindustan Zinc Debari. District Education Officer Deepak God, Additional District Education Officer Mohanlal Meghwal, Chief Security Officer of Hindustan Zinc Debari Aditya Narayan Thakur, CSR Head Ruchika Chawla, CSR Officer Aparna Vyas, school Vice-Principal Rajendra Singh Jhala, Prakash Gameti, Jagdish Dangi, Prakash Gayari and Dinesh Dangi were among those present. A large number of villagers and students also attended the programme.
Addressing the students, Vivek Yadav said sports are an important part of life along with education. Sports develop team spirit among students and teach them to move forward together. He said discipline is essential for progress in life and the path to success cannot be easy without discipline.
He urged students to maintain distance from mobile phones and said that although mobile phones have become a part of daily life, children should use them in a limited and appropriate manner. He said sweating it out on the playground strengthens both the body and the mind.
District Education Officer Deepak God said mobile phones are increasingly becoming a serious concern. While mobile phones are useful in the technological era, students should avoid becoming addicted to them. He said turning dreams into reality requires stepping onto the field and working hard.
He encouraged students to progress in sports along with their studies. Sports not only improve physical fitness but also develop confidence, discipline and a spirit to face challenges.
The construction of the boundary wall will make the school playground safer and provide students with an organised environment for sports activities. Villagers described the development work as an important gift for the school and linked it with the future of the students.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to Hindustan Zinc and said the development of the playground would provide students from the village with better opportunities to improve and showcase their sporting talent.
