Udaipur : A constable of Savina police station has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. The accused constable has been identified as Mukesh Chaudhary.

The ACB’s special unit arrested Chaudhary red-handed while he was accepting the bribe from the complainant, Prabhulal. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy SP Rajeev Joshi.
Joshi said that Prabhulal had lodged a complaint with the ACB alleging that Savina police had seized his bus carrying 20 boxes of liquor to Gujarat a few days ago. Following this, the complainant and his associate were sent to jail by the court. The bus and liquor were seized by the Excise Department.
When the complainant came out of jail and contacted the accused constable Mukesh Chaudhary to get his vehicle released, Chaudhary demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for releasing the bus.
The constable told the complainant that he would write a report in his favor to be submitted to the Excise Department. So that the vehicle is released easily and quickly. For this, the complainant was being repeatedly harassed by the constable. The complainant filed a complaint with the ACB in this regard.
After this, the ACB team formed a team and verified the matter. After which Constable Mukesh Chaudhary was arrested red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. The ACB team seized the bribe amount from the possession of the constable. The ACB is investigating further in the matter.
