New Delhi, September 13 (Udaipur Kiran) : Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian has departed for Tehran following his participation in the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi. The Iranian Embassy in India confirmed his departure on social media platform X, sharing a photo of the president leaving.
Before his departure, Pajeshkian expressed optimism about meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Iran soon. The Iranian Embassy also posted a farewell message along with a photo of the two leaders, emphasizing the anticipation of their upcoming meeting.
During his visit, Pajeshkian met with Indian President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Murmu reiterated India’s commitment to establishing lasting peace through dialogue and diplomacy. The two leaders discussed the long-standing friendly relations between India and Iran, cultural ties, and the strong connections between their peoples. Murmu also underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomatic efforts in addressing regional and global issues.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had a meeting with Pajeshkian on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, where he emphasized the need for a long-term and mutually beneficial strategy between India and Iran. Modi remarked on the significance of Pajeshkian’s visit, noting that it was his first trip to India. He expressed happiness over their discussions aimed at strengthening India-Iran friendship and reiterated India’s commitment to lasting peace in the region.
