Udaipur, April 9 (Udaipur Kiran): A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death late Tuesday night in the Ghantaghar police station area of Udaipur, leading to tension and protests by the victim’s family demanding compensation.

The incident took place around 12:30 am in Silawatwadi–Bichchu Ghati, where the victim, identified as Sahil alias Suhani, a resident of Ambavgarh Kacchi Basti, was attacked due to an ongoing rivalry.
According to police, Sahil was returning home on a bike with his associate Zeeshan when the accused intercepted them. The attackers surrounded Sahil and stabbed him twice, targeting his chest and waist. He collapsed on the spot due to severe injuries, while the accused fled.
Locals rushed him to Maharana Bhupal Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family.
The incident created fear in the area. On Wednesday morning, family members and relatives gathered outside the mortuary and expressed anger over the killing. Citing the poor financial condition of the family, relatives demanded compensation, stating that Sahil was the sole earning member and only son of the family.
Police said Sahil had a dispute with a person named Naeem, a resident of Thokar Chauraha area. Due to this rivalry, Naeem allegedly arrived at the spot with his associates and carried out the attack.
Station House Officer Karmveer Singh said police reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from nearby locations is being examined to identify the accused. Teams have been dispatched to possible hideouts in Bhilwara, Ajmer, and Pratapgarh. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest.
