Jaipur, October 19 (Udaipur Kiran): A tragic accident occurred in Kishangarh-Renwal area of Jaipur Rural district on Sunday evening when an LPG gas cylinder exploded inside a restaurant, killing one person and injuring two others. The powerful blast caused parts of the two-storey building to collapse and triggered a fire.

According to police, the explosion took place at the Rajasthan Restaurant, located near the railway crossing in Kishangarh-Renwal. The ground floor housed the restaurant, while the first floor had a sweets manufacturing unit. As preparations for Diwali were underway, a cylinder kept on the first floor reportedly burst with a loud explosion, followed by a second blast.
The impact was so strong that a section of the building’s roof collapsed, and a worker from the sweets unit fell to the ground floor, getting trapped under the debris. The balcony wall also broke apart and fell onto the street below. Two bystanders near the restaurant were also buried under the rubble.
Station House Officer (SHO) Devendra Chawla said that police reached the site immediately and found debris scattered nearly 30 feet away from the building. The SDRF and Fire Brigade teams were called in to carry out rescue operations. Firefighters managed to control the blaze after a strenuous effort.
The SDRF team rescued two men, identified as Anuj and Divansh, who were reportedly eating snacks at a nearby stall. Both were rushed to the hospital in serious condition. Later, rescuers found another victim under the debris, identified as Kishan Kumar (32), a cook from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the cylinder explosion, while forensic and fire safety experts are expected to examine the site.
