Udaipur, December 9 (Udaipur Kiran): Member of Parliament Dr Mannalal Rawat has written a letter to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the State Chief Secretary seeking immediate action against the Pratapgarh District Collector over alleged irregularities in works approved under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT). He has demanded that a charge sheet be issued against the Collector without delay.
In his letter, Dr Rawat stated that a meeting of the Pratapgarh DMFT Governing Council was held on February 11, 2025, in which a total of 54 development works were approved. The formal approval orders were issued on April 22. Out of these approved works, 32 were related to the construction of classrooms in government schools.
Dr Rawat pointed out that due to heavy rainfall in the state this year, several school buildings collapsed, leading to loss of life. In view of this, the state government had issued clear directions to give priority to the use of DMFT funds for the reconstruction of damaged and dilapidated school buildings. The Chief Secretary had also issued written instructions to all district collectors on November 26, 2025, in this regard.
Despite these directions, the Pratapgarh District Collector issued payment orders for only three school classroom construction works, while approval for the remaining 50 works was not released.
Dr Rawat further alleged that the District Collector also provided misleading information to local public representatives regarding the issuance of approvals for all works, which he described as a serious lapse and a deliberate act.
The MP has urged the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary to issue a charge sheet against the Pratapgarh Collector immediately and to ensure that approvals for all the sanctioned works are issued without further delay.
