India beats Afghanistan by 6 wickets in second T20I

Indore : India beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets (with 26 balls to spare) in the second T20I in Indore on Sunday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (68) and Shivam Dube (63 not out) scored half-centuries to power India to victory. Jaiswal hit six sixes in his 34-ball innings, while Dube got his second unbeaten half-century of the series, scoring 63 off 32 balls.

India chased down Afghanistan’s 172-run target in just 15.4 overs.

Virat Kohli, who returned to the T20I side after 14 months, scored 29 off 16 balls.

Arshdeep Singh (3-32) and Axar Patel (2-17) starred with the ball for India, restricting Afghanistan to 172.

Gulbadin Naib (57) top-scored for Afghanistan.

Rohit Sharma, who was playing his 150th T20I, was dismissed for a duck for the second time in the series.

India will look to complete a clean sweep when they face Afghanistan in the third and final T20I in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
