Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series is rumored to bring notable hardware improvements, including a significant RAM upgrade. The series, expected to debut on January 22nd, 2025, at Samsung’s iconic ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event, aims to set new benchmarks in the premium flagship category.
While leaked renders and live images suggest minimal design changes compared to the Galaxy S24 lineup, hardware advancements, including memory and storage upgrades, appear to be the focus this time.

RAM Upgrade for Galaxy S25 Series
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, Samsung is making a bold move by upgrading the base RAM configuration across its Galaxy S25 series:
- Galaxy S25 and S25+ will feature 12GB RAM as standard, eliminating the 8GB RAM variant found in the S24 lineup.
- The Galaxy S25 Ultra will also offer 12GB RAM as the base configuration, but a 16GB RAM option could make its debut for the first time, aligning with top-end competitors like Google and OnePlus.
This RAM upgrade is expected to significantly enhance multitasking and performance capabilities, appealing to power users and gamers alike.
Storage Upgrade
The leak also suggests the base storage option for the Galaxy S25 series will be 256GB, doubling the entry-level storage of its predecessor, which started at 128GB. This upgrade aligns with the growing demand for higher onboard storage for apps, photos, and videos.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset
The Galaxy S25 series is widely believed to be powered exclusively by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, dropping the Exynos SoC entirely. This shift is reportedly due to low yields of Exynos processors, ensuring consistent performance across all regions.
Design Refinements
While the Galaxy S25 and S25+ will retain a design similar to their predecessors, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to feature subtle design changes:
- Rounded corners instead of sharp edges for a more ergonomic feel.
- A slightly narrow profile, giving it a taller appearance.
- Concentric camera sensor rings, adding a refined aesthetic touch.
Expected India Launch and Pricing
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch in India soon after its global debut. For reference, the Galaxy S24 lineup was introduced in January 2024 with a starting price of ₹79,999 for the base variant. The 128GB Galaxy S24 model later launched at ₹74,999. A similar pricing strategy is expected for the Galaxy S25 series.
