India Dominates Pakistan 19-0 to Reach Junior Womens Hockey Asia Cup Semifinals
The Indian womens junior hockey team secured a stunning 19-0 victory over Pakistan, advancing to the semifinals of the Asia Cup.
Moki, September 10 (Udaipur Kiran) : The Indian women’s junior hockey team showcased an impressive performance in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Asia Cup, defeating Pakistan with a staggering score of 19-0. This decisive victory not only highlighted India’s dominance but also secured their place in the semifinals.
From the onset, India displayed exceptional skill and strategy. Within just seven minutes, Pooja Sahu netted the first goal, giving India an early lead of 1-0. Roshni Aind quickly followed, doubling the score just two minutes later.
The relentless attacking play continued, putting immense pressure on the Pakistani defense. In the following five minutes, India scored four more goals, with Tanushree Dinesh Kadu, Sukveer Kaur, and Sanika Chandrakant Mane all contributing to the scoreline.
Madhu Sidar and Geeta Yadav also found the back of the net, while Sanika Mane scored her second goal in the 23rd minute, solidifying India’s commanding position. The first half concluded with India firmly in control, leading 10-0 after goals from Tanuja Toppo and Pooja Malik, followed by a strike from Purnima Yadav in the 33rd minute.
The second half saw India maintain their aggressive approach. Madhu Sidar scored again in the 39th minute, and Supriya made her mark shortly after. Pooja Malik completed a hat trick with two consecutive goals in the 49th and 51st minutes.
As the match progressed, Krishna Sharma and Binima Dhan added to the tally, with Supriya scoring her second goal in the 54th minute. Roshni capped off the match with her second goal in the final minute, sealing India’s remarkable victory.
This 19-0 triumph was not unexpected, considering India’s previous strong performances in the group stages, where they defeated formidable teams like Japan, Malaysia, and South Korea to top their group. The Indian team will now face the winner of the quarterfinal match between South Korea and Malaysia in the semifinals. As the defending champions, India is just two wins away from securing the Junior Women’s Asia Cup title for the third consecutive time, having won it in 2023 and 2024 as well.
