New Delhi, September 11 (Udaipur Kiran) : India and China are showing signs of improving relations, as confirmed by Chinese Ambassador to India, Shü Feihong, on September 11. He announced that preparations are underway for a bilateral meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on the social media platform X, Shü stated, “China and India are preparing for a bilateral meeting between President Xi and Prime Minister Modi. Following meetings in Kazan and Tianjin, this will mark the third consecutive year that the two leaders will meet.”
The ambassador emphasized that China aims to work closely with India to implement the strategic directives of both leaders, viewing bilateral relations from a long-term perspective. He highlighted the importance of enhancing dialogue and cooperation, resolving differences appropriately, and fostering a friendship that supports each other’s success.
Notably, significant improvements in the relationship between the two leaders have been observed over the past two years. Meaningful discussions took place during the BRICS summit in Kazan in 2024 and the SCO summit in Tianjin in 2025. This upcoming meeting is expected to further strengthen trust between the two nations.
In a previous statement, the Chinese ambassador also expressed support for India hosting this year’s BRICS summit, indicating its diplomatic significance amid ongoing tariff tensions with the United States and global geopolitical challenges. The growing closeness between India and China sends a strong message to the Global South.
