New Delhi, September 11 (Udaipur Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media on Friday to share a video that encapsulates the significant activities and meetings with world leaders during the BRICS Summit held in New Delhi.
In the video, Modi is seen engaging in bilateral discussions with notable figures such as Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The Prime Minister also toured the InnoProm India exhibition, highlighting India’s growing industrial landscape.
Modi described the BRICS Business Forum as the largest of its kind to date, emphasizing India’s role in building economic bridges at a time when trade barriers are on the rise globally.
During his meeting with Guterres, both leaders underscored the importance of a multipolar world order and the need for reforms in multilateral institutions like the United Nations Security Council to reflect contemporary global realities. They discussed pressing issues such as global conflicts, maritime freedom, sustainable development, human-centric artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and global food security. Modi extended his best wishes to Guterres for the remainder of his term.
The Prime Minister also held discussions with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, marking their second meeting in two weeks. They reviewed various aspects of bilateral relations and appreciated Iran’s active participation in BRICS-related initiatives. Modi reiterated that BRICS has the potential to enhance cooperation, innovation, and stability among countries of the Global South.
Furthermore, Modi and Putin reviewed progress in cooperation across sectors such as politics, economy, defense, energy, space, skill development, and people-to-people contacts. They jointly visited the InnoProm India international industrial exhibition, which they deemed pivotal for strengthening trade and industrial collaboration between their nations.
Discussions also touched upon regional and global issues, including the situation in West Asia and the Black Sea region. Modi reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy are the most effective paths to resolving conflicts and expressed India’s readiness to contribute to peace efforts. Putin extended an invitation to Modi to attend the 24th India-Russia Annual Summit, which the Prime Minister accepted.
