Lecture on Citizens’ Duties and Responsibilities Held at PIMS Umarda

Udaipur: A special guest lecture on “Duties and Responsibilities of Citizens” was organised by the Department of Anatomy at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Umarda, Udaipur.

Prof Indra Vardhan Trivedi, former Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, was the keynote speaker. Addressing students and faculty members, he elaborated on the constitutional and social responsibilities of citizens, their duties towards the nation, discipline, respect for law and the role of every citizen in the development of society.

Prof Trivedi said a responsible citizen is not only aware of their rights but also sincerely fulfils their duties and social responsibilities. He encouraged the youth to play an active and positive role in nation-building.

Presiding over the programme, Sai Tirupati University Chairman Dr Prashant Nahar stressed the importance of citizens understanding their duties and social responsibilities along with their rights.

He said a good citizen understands and fulfils their duties along with their rights. Following fundamental duties, protecting the unity and integrity of the country, promoting brotherhood and discipline, and respecting the law are the responsibilities of every citizen.

Dr Nahar said the youth have an important role in nation-building. He emphasised that cleanliness, environmental protection and safeguarding public property should be treated as civic responsibilities. He said a strong society and developed nation can be built through honesty, ethics and social sensitivity.

Dr Prashant Nahar called upon all students and faculty members to fulfil their civic duties in their daily lives and inspire others to do the same.

The programme was conducted by Dr Ganesh Khemnar, Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy. Department faculty members Dr Prakash K.G., Dr Saniya K., Dr Ritubhi Mehta, Dr Avniben, Dr Narendra Saini, Dr Ram Saini, Dr Manhit and Dr Nazima also played an important role in organising the programme.

Dr Suresh Goyal, Principal and Controller, Dr Dilip Kumar, Dr Chandra Mathur, Dr Pranav Kumar, Dr Jyoti Tomar, Amritlal Seerot, along with faculty members, residents, interns and students of the institute, were present during the programme.

The programme aimed to increase awareness among students and the younger generation about responsible citizenship, constitutional values and social responsibility.
