Strengthening India-Iran Ties: Maulana Yasub Abbas Welcomes Iranian President

New Delhi, September 11 (Udaipur Kiran) : Maulana Yasub Abbas, the Secretary General and spokesperson of the All India Shia Personal Law Board, expressed his views regarding the upcoming meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi. He revealed that he has been invited by the Iranian embassy for this significant meeting. Abbas welcomed the Iranian President’s arrival in India and stressed the importance of further strengthening the longstanding relationship between India and Iran.

In his remarks, Abbas highlighted that meeting the Iranian President is a crucial opportunity for him as the Secretary General of the board. He extended condolences to the families of Iran’s late religious and political leaders as well as those who lost their lives during conflicts, particularly acknowledging the children affected by the violence. Abbas also voiced strong objections to the actions of the United States and Israel.

He noted that India and Iran share a rich historical relationship, which he hopes will continue to grow stronger in the future. Abbas expressed optimism that both nations would enhance their cooperation.

Discussing the potential benefits of the BRICS summit for India-Iran relations, he stated that this platform could solidify ties between the two countries. With major nations like Russia and China involved, along with the participation of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the summit holds significant regional importance. He congratulated the Indian government for hosting the BRICS summit and welcomed the Iranian President’s visit.

Abbas described the Iranian President’s visit as particularly important amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Western nations. This visit, he believes, is a testament to the historic ties between the two countries. Given the international challenges Iran currently faces, the President’s trip to India carries special significance. He expressed hope that the Indian government would ensure the necessary arrangements for the safety and travel of the Iranian President and his delegation.

He further emphasized that the relationship between India and Iran extends beyond current circumstances, rooted in long-standing cultural and historical connections. In light of the current global situation, he stressed the need to strengthen these ties.
