New Delhi, September 11 (Udaipur Kiran) : The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) launched its ‘B’ Shotgun Judges Course on September 10, 2026, in New Delhi. Organized by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), this five-day course will run until September 14, 2026.
A total of 16 participants from India and Oman are taking part in the course, which aims to improve the knowledge and technical skills of shooting officials in line with ISSF regulations and international standards.
Mohammed Wahdan from Egypt, Chairman of the ISSF Shotgun Committee, is leading the course as the instructor, with Amar Jung Singh from India assisting him as the co-instructor.
During the inauguration, NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, along with Secretary General Pawan Kumar Singh, Secretary Rajeev Bhatia, and High-Performance Manager (Shotgun) Mansher Singh, welcomed the instructors and participants.
Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo emphasized NRAI’s commitment to building a robust education program for Indian shooting. He noted the organization has conducted several ISSF courses in India over the past two to three years, aiming to double the number of coaches, judges, jury members, and officials across shotgun, pistol, and rifle disciplines every few years. With over 100,000 registered shooters and about 20,000 competing at the national level under stringent qualification standards, he highlighted the need for a strong base of technical officials to support this ecosystem.
Secretary General Pawan Kumar Singh shared that over the past four years, more than 1,500 ISSF and national coaches and judges have been trained. He mentioned that this year alone, the NRAI has organized courses for ISSF rifle judges, ISSF EST, and ISSF referees.
In response to new ISSF requirements, coaches present at events must possess either an ISSF A or B license. To address this, the NRAI is conducting the ISSF B course for 44 participants and will also host the ISSF A course for the first time in October. All courses are offered free of charge, made possible through ongoing support from the Sports Authority of India and Olympic Gold Quest.
This course is part of NRAI’s continuous efforts to develop capable technical officials and provide opportunities to enhance their knowledge and experience to meet international standards.
