Fresh Snowfall Cuts Off Gurez Valley from Rest of Kashmir

Srinagar, October 7 (Udaipur Kiran): The Gurez Valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been cut off from the rest of the Kashmir Valley following fresh snowfall on Tuesday, officials confirmed.

Fresh Snowfall

According to reports, the Bandipora–Gurez road was closed after around 4 to 5 inches of fresh snow accumulated at the Razdan Top, a key mountain pass connecting the region. The snowfall led to disruption of road connectivity and left several vehicles stranded along the route.

Authorities said that the Border Security Force (BSF) units stationed in the area swiftly responded and extended timely assistance, helping rescue stranded passengers and vehicles safely.

The Gurez Valley, known for its scenic beauty and strategic location near the Line of Control (LoC), often experiences early snowfall, leading to temporary closure of road links during the winter season.
