Udaipur, September 10: Udaipur Police solved a daylight kidnapping case linked to a land dispute within just six hours, safely rescuing the abducted man and arresting five accused, including four women.
The police also seized the Maruti Eeco car allegedly used in the crime.
The action was carried out by Sukher police under the direction of Udaipur Superintendent of Police Dr Amrita Duhan, supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police, City, Umesh Ojha, and leadership of Rajesh Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nagar West Circle.
According to the complaint filed at Sukher police station by Lalita, wife of Kamlesh, a resident of Bedla, Udaipur, the incident took place at around 8 AM. She stated that her husband Kamlesh had gone to drop their daughter at school when Manju Dangi, Kanku Dangi, Bhagwati Lal Dangi, Shivam Dangi and Prakash Dangi allegedly hit his scooter with a car and forcibly took him away in the vehicle.
The complainant also stated that the accused had earlier threatened to kill Kamlesh. The matter was related to a mutual land dispute.
Considering the seriousness of the case, two special teams were immediately formed on the directions of Udaipur SP Dr Amrita Duhan. The teams began the investigation using technical and psychological methods.
While tracking the accused, the police conducted searches in the forests of Gudli village and Khamnor in the Delwara area.
According to police, the accused were planning to forcibly get the land registered in their favour from Kamlesh. However, they failed to execute the plan due to increasing police pressure.
The police safely rescued Kamlesh from the forest and freed him from the accused.
Five Accused Arrested
The arrested accused have been identified as:
- Manju, wife of Bhagwati Lal Dangi, 27, resident of Gudli, Delwara, Rajsamand.
- Shivam, son of Kamal Dangi, 25, resident of Gudli, Delwara, Rajsamand.
- Kanku Bai, wife of Kamal Dangi, 50, resident of Gudli, Delwara, Rajsamand.
- Nirmala, wife of Sukhlal Meena, 21, resident of Rayta, Nai, Udaipur.
- Jaya, wife of Dhanna Meena, 22, resident of Gamda Pal, Salumber.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
