Mumbai, February 18: A bomb threat received via email at Fortis Hospital in Mohali prompted a thorough search of the campus on Tuesday, February 17. Mohali’s SP City, Dilpreet Singh, confirmed that no suspicious items were found during the operation.
The threatening email was received around 8 AM on an official email ID of a local school. According to SP Singh, the email indicated an intention to target Fortis Hospital Mohali. In response, police headquarters, the range office, and the anti-sabotage teams, along with bomb disposal units, were dispatched to the hospital immediately.
For safety reasons, all nearby schools were also thoroughly checked since the threat originated from a school email ID, ensuring the safety of students and staff. After the comprehensive search, no suspicious objects or materials were discovered. SP Singh stated that the threat appears to be false and that the situation is under control.
The investigation into the source of the email is ongoing. The SP urged the public to maintain peace and cooperate with authorities, requesting that any suspicious activities be reported to the nearest police station.
The incident caused a stir; however, investigations revealed that the threat was indeed fake. The police are currently looking into the matter.
Meanwhile, Punjab’s Chief Minister is hospitalized at Fortis Hospital. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann underwent a routine health check-up on February 16 and has been admitted for monitoring and supportive care due to fatigue.
