Udaipur, July 21: The new academic session for BBA, B.Com and M.Com programmes commenced with enthusiasm at the Pacific University’s Pacific Institute of Business Studies, with a strong focus on holistic student development, industry-oriented learning and practical education.
Addressing the students, Principal Prof. Anurag Mehta outlined the institute’s academic framework, student-centric activities, mentorship programmes and practical learning initiatives. He said the institute aims to equip students not only with degrees but also with the skills required to meet future professional challenges.
Prof. Mehta informed students that facilities such as a book bank, updated study materials and academic support resources have been made available. Students will also get opportunities to earn skill development certificates from reputed institutions including IITs and IIMs during their course of study.
Dr. Ali Asgar highlighted the mentorship programme under which one mentor has been assigned to every 15 students to ensure personalised academic guidance and continuous monitoring of student progress.
Speaking on extracurricular opportunities, Dr. Abid said students will be encouraged to participate in various co-curricular clubs, including the AI Club, Professional Dialogue Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Creative Club, Anand Sports Club and Yoga Club.
Dr. Deepika Chaplot explained that examinations will be conducted under the semester system, while continuous assessment will be carried out through sessional tests and practical assignments. Dr. Priyanka Choudhary said the institute will emphasise case study-based learning and real-life examples to make education more practical and relevant.
Dr. Bhavana Mehta and Dr. Rachna Paliwal stated that case studies will also form part of the examination pattern to strengthen students’ analytical, logical and problem-solving abilities. Dr. Sangeeta Jha added that research papers and case study projects will receive special emphasis in practical work.
Assistant Professors Dimple and Bikramjit briefed students about admission procedures, academic support services and transportation facilities available at the institute.
Students expressed enthusiasm about the institute’s modern, practical and student-focused approach to education as the new academic session began.
