NEW DELHI, July 1, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Petrol prices have been reduced by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre by Nyara Energy from July 1, bringing relief to consumers. Along with the fuel price reduction, six other major changes have come into effect, including a cut of ₹180 in commercial LPG cylinder prices, withdrawal of diesel purchase limits, revised passport fees, higher penalties for ticketless train travel, free Aadhaar email updates and an increase in vehicle prices.
Commercial LPG cylinders have become cheaper by an average of ₹180. In Delhi, the price has been reduced to ₹2,930 from ₹3,113.50.
The limit of 200 litres of diesel per vehicle per day at petrol pumps has also been withdrawn. Restrictions imposed on factories and commercial buyers have been removed following an improvement in fuel supplies. The restrictions were introduced on June 11 and withdrawn through a fresh order issued on June 29.
Passport fees have been increased with effect from July 1. The fee for a standard 36-page passport has been revised from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, while the fee for a Tatkal 36-page passport has increased from ₹3,500 to ₹5,000. The fee for a standard 60-page passport has been raised from ₹2,000 to ₹3,500, and the Tatkal 60-page passport fee has been increased from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000.
The Railways has increased the minimum penalty for travelling without a ticket from ₹250 to ₹500. Passengers caught without a valid ticket will now have to pay the actual fare along with a minimum penalty of ₹500. In cases that reach a magistrate court and result in conviction, punishment may include up to six months’ imprisonment, a fine of up to ₹1,000, or both.
Private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has reduced petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre. According to the information provided, petrol in Bhopal is now priced at ₹107 per litre and diesel at ₹92 per litre. The company operates more than 7,000 fuel stations across the country.
The Unique Identification Authority of India has made Aadhaar email address updates free from July 1. The earlier fee of ₹75 has been waived, and the service will remain free until December 31, 2026.
Vehicle purchases have also become costlier from July 1 as several automobile manufacturers have increased prices. Kia India has raised prices across its vehicle range by up to 2%, while Tata Motors is increasing prices by up to 1.5%.
