New Delhi, July 22: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav was taken into custody by the police during a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence but was released late at night along with other leaders. The SP has urged its workers to end the protest following their release.
After his release, Yadav criticized the government and called for the resignation of the Education Minister, alleging that police had committed injustices against students during the protests. He stated that the anger was being directed at students because of their failures in the NEET exam. “We demand that the government accept the students’ demands and that the Education Minister resign,” he said.
Yadav expressed confusion over the government’s reluctance to remove the Education Minister, suggesting that pressure may be preventing the government from addressing issues of corruption and scandals. He emphasized that the opposition will continue to fight for the rights of youth and students, stating that the struggle for their rights will persist.
He also criticized the government’s failure to pay tribute to students who lost their lives, asserting that the government is evading accountability. Yadav highlighted the need for political support for the new generation and called for solutions to their problems.
“If the country is progressing rapidly and you are showcasing the dream of a developed India, how can unemployment continue to rise at such a scale? Increasing unemployment and inflation indicate a lack of investment,” he remarked.
Yadav also expressed concern over a recent theft from the donation box of the Ram Temple, calling it a grave sin. He mentioned the formation of a new Special Investigation Team (SIT) to uncover the truth behind the incident.
Additionally, he raised alarms about 20 paper leaks in Uttar Pradesh, stating that corruption is affecting millions of people in the state.
