Ayodhya, July 22: A significant meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is scheduled to take place today at the Maniram Das Chhauni in Ayodhya. The agenda includes discussions on appointments to vacant positions within the trust, among other important issues. Ahead of the meeting, local saints in Ayodhya have intensified their demand for representation from local saints and individuals associated with the Ramanandi Vaishnav tradition in the trust.
Mahant Sitaram Das of Saket Bhawan expressed hope that under the leadership of Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, new appointments would be made for saints connected to the Ramanandi Vaishnav tradition. He emphasized that this would help in the systematic management of the worship practices and religious traditions of Lord Ram Lalla.
Mahant Sitaram Das noted that the saint community has long been advocating for the inclusion of individuals deeply connected to Ayodhya’s religious traditions and the Ram Mandir movement in the trust. He mentioned that a separate meeting for the saint community is also planned for July 23, where they will strategize based on the decisions made in the trust meeting.
Meanwhile, Kalki Ram, President of the Ramdal Trust, highlighted the importance of today’s meeting. He pointed out that several positions within the trust remain vacant, and for the first time, a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will also be appointed. He stated that various rumors regarding the trust have circulated in society, and this meeting presents an opportunity to address those concerns.
Kalki Ram urged trust officials to prioritize appointing individuals with a connection to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement or those who have ties to Ayodhya when filling vacant positions. He expressed concern that including individuals from outside states affects the sentiments of local saints and the community. He alleged that previous appointments of individuals from outside states led to disputes and tarnished Ayodhya’s reputation.
He also mentioned that since Lord Shri Ram’s life is closely associated with Ayodhya, the structure of the trust should appropriately reflect the involvement of Ayodhya’s saints and representatives. Additionally, he suggested that in light of Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das’s advancing age, Mahant Kamalnayan Das should be entrusted with the responsibilities as his successor.
