CJP Clarifies Peaceful Protest Call Amid Disturbances

New Delhi, July 22: The Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) clarified on Tuesday that it has only called its supporters for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. The party emphasized that there was no call for gathering in other parts of Delhi.

Abhijit Dipke released a video stating that there are reports of some anti-social elements possibly being sent to create disturbances in other areas of Delhi. He asserted that these individuals are not associated with the CJP and have no connection to the party.

The party urged its supporters to participate solely in the ongoing peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar and to refrain from falling for any rumors or provocations.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police also addressed an incident that occurred in the New Delhi area. According to the police, a group of youths approached barricades around 8 PM and threw stones at the police force present there, causing some barricades to fall.

The police stated that officers maintained a distance and appealed to the crowd to maintain peace. Shortly after, the group dispersed, and the situation returned to normal.

The police confirmed that no force was used anywhere in the New Delhi area, and the situation was completely calm within minutes.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, opposition leaders marched from the Parliament House to the Prime Minister’s residence and staged a sit-in there. Union Minister Jitendra Singh attempted to negotiate with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi to end the protest, but the discussions were inconclusive. Subsequently, the Delhi Police removed the leaders from the location.

Later that night, all the leaders were released by the Delhi Police.
