BJP Slams SP for Misleading Public After PMs Appeal

Lucknow, May 11: Pankaj Chaudhary, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Minister of State for Finance, has launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing the opposition of politicizing every decision in the national interest.

Chaudhary stated that the SP is viewing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for energy conservation, promotion of indigenous products, and prudent resource use through a political lens, attempting to create confusion among the public.

In a statement released on Monday, he emphasized that Modi’s message symbolizes visionary and responsible leadership, not weakness. He noted that amidst global challenges and economic instability, India is firmly advancing towards self-reliance and resource conservation, while parties like the SP mislead the public for political gain.

The BJP state president highlighted that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, global recession, and instability in international markets, India remains one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. He claimed that India is consistently reaching new heights in sectors such as digital revolution, infrastructure, startups, defense production, railways, expressways, airports, and metro systems, earning global admiration for its decisive leadership and stable policies.

Chaudhary criticized the SP, recalling that during their governance, Uttar Pradesh faced riots, corruption, power crises, mafia rule, and poor law and order. He pointed out that the public has not forgotten that under SP rule, the state’s identity was linked to crime and chaos, causing investors to hesitate and women to feel unsafe.

He praised the BJP government for providing free rations to the poor, financial support to farmers, the Ujjwala scheme for women, and employment opportunities for youth. Chaudhary asserted that under Modi’s leadership, India has established a strong identity on the global stage, with the world now taking India seriously.

He remarked that the statements from SP president Akhilesh Yadav reflect political despair and frustration, as the SP has become issue-less after consecutive electoral defeats, now resorting to making headlines on every national topic. Chaudhary deemed it unfortunate for political opportunism to overshadow calls made in the national interest.

He urged the opposition to engage in positive politics on national issues rather than spreading fear and confusion. Chaudhary expressed confidence that the people of the country and the state stand with development, security, and stable leadership, viewing the BJP as the only option for a “strong leadership, secure India, and developed India.”
