Domestic Helper Allegedly Beaten and Tied to Chair in Hardoi

Hardoi, October 2 (Udaipur Kiran) : A shocking incident has emerged from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, where a domestic helper was allegedly beaten and tied to a chair over suspicions of theft. The incident reportedly took place in the Nexra Colony of the Kotwali Dehat area. Following the victim’s complaint, police have filed an FIR against five individuals and have initiated an investigation.

According to police reports, the victim, Upasana, who hails from the Behata Gokul area, worked as a domestic helper at the residence of a woman named Aakansha. On September 30, Upasana claims that Aakansha and several other women from the family apprehended her, bound her to a chair, and physically assaulted her.

A video that has since gone viral on social media purportedly shows a woman applying pressure to Upasana’s neck with a stick while assaulting her. Allegations suggest that the assault was intended to coerce Upasana into confessing to the theft, a claim she has vehemently denied.

After learning about the incident, Upasana approached the police to file a complaint. Based on her statement, the police have registered an FIR against Aakansha, Ashish, Deepika, Soni, and Vani under various sections, including those concerning atrocities against Scheduled Castes. The police have also conducted a medical examination of the victim and are actively investigating the case. Authorities have indicated that they are working to apprehend the accused.

The case has garnered significant attention following the release of the related video, and the police are thoroughly examining all aspects of the incident. Further legal action will be determined based on the findings of the investigation.
