Kota, November 1 (Udaipur Kiran): A tragic road accident in Itawa town of Pipalda tehsil, Kota district, claimed the lives of two schoolgirls and left 12 other children injured when a school van collided head-on with a Bolero vehicle on Saturday morning.

The impact was so severe that both vehicles overturned. Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and began rescue operations, pulling the trapped children out of the damaged van and taking them to the Itawa Government Hospital.
Despite medical efforts, Parul, a student of Class 4, and Tanu Nagar, a Class 10 student, succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Seven critically injured children were referred to Kota’s MBS Hospital for advanced care, while the remaining are being treated at Itawa’s sub-district hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred near the 132 KV GSS on Geta Road. The van, carrying children from the School of Joy and Happiness, was on its way to school when its tyre suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control. The van swerved into an oncoming Bolero and overturned upon impact. The collision was so forceful that several children were thrown nearly 20 meters away from the vehicle.
DSP Shubham Joshi confirmed that all injured children are receiving priority medical care. Two people in the Bolero were also injured. Senior administrative officials, including the SDM and Education Department officers, reached the spot to oversee rescue and relief measures.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. The incident has sent a wave of grief through the local community.
