Sikar Factory and Boilers Inspector Arrested While Allegedly Taking Rs 20,000 Bribe

Jaipur, September 28, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Mohit Sharma, an Inspector in the Office of the Inspector, Factory and Boilers, Inspection Department, Sikar, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

The action was carried out on Monday by the ACB Jaipur City III unit on the directions of the ACB headquarters.

Bribe Allegedly Demanded After Factory Inspection

According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, a complaint was received by the ACB Jaipur City III unit stating that Mohit Sharma had inspected the complainant’s Shriram Timber Furniture Factory in Taranagar.

During the inspection, four rectifiable deficiencies were pointed out. After the complainant rectified the deficiencies, Sharma allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 in return for not pointing out any further deficiencies in the future.

During verification of the complaint on September 24, 2026, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 30,000 and later agreed to accept Rs 25,000 as a bribe.

Arrest During Trap Operation

The trap operation was conducted under the supervision of ACB Deputy Inspector General of Police-II, Jaipur, Om Prakash Meena, and led by Gyan Prakash Naval, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB Jaipur City III.

During the operation, Mohit Sharma was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000 from the complainant.

The ACB said that questioning of Sharma and further proceedings are underway under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala. A case will be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation will be conducted.

ACB Appeals to Public

The ACB said that if a case, complaint or preliminary inquiry is registered against any person, they can directly contact the ACB and submit their side or explanation. The bureau said that analysing such explanations in detail before taking a decision during the investigation is part of its working procedure.

The ACB also cautioned that this information is important in the context of people potentially becoming victims of fraud by persons exploiting fear of ACB action.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has appealed to citizens to contact its toll-free number 1064 and WhatsApp helpline 94135-02834, available 24×7, to contribute to the campaign against corruption. The ACB said it will provide assistance in getting legitimate work done.
