New Delhi, October 1 (Udaipur Kiran) : The United States has announced sanctions against ten individuals and companies from various countries, including several Pakistani firms. These sanctions are linked to allegations that they assisted Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) in procuring weapons and military equipment.
According to a report from ‘The Media Line’, among those sanctioned is a Pakistani businessman associated with three companies. He is identified as the chairman of the Cavalier Group, a private defense company operating within Pakistan and in other nations.
The U.S. government claims that this businessman and his companies acted as intermediaries for the Iranian defense ministry, facilitating arms transactions. He is reported to be the main shareholder and chief executive of Cavalier Dynamics Private Limited, and has connections with sanctioned companies based in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
The report also suggests that the U.S. action against the Saudi-based Cavalier Dynamics for Technologies was supported by Saudi authorities. Allegedly, the businessman provided financial, material, and technical support to MODAFL or attempted to do so, which oversees arms research, production, and procurement for Iran’s armed forces.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Beasley stated that Washington will continue to target individuals and entities that provide assistance to Iran. This initiative is part of the “Operation Economic Outcast,” launched in August to disrupt the Iranian government’s economic network.
The objective of this operation is to cut off revenue sources used by Iran to evade sanctions, fund militant activities, and sustain its defense programs. The report also warns that entities involved in sanctions evasion or money laundering could be excluded from the U.S. financial system and face secondary sanctions.
Cavalier Group, which positions itself as a leading private sector defense company in Pakistan, has not publicly responded to the U.S. allegations.
