Mumbai, February 18, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : The SBI Foundation has started registrations for the 14th batch (2026) of its prestigious Youth for India Fellowship programme. The initiative offers young graduates an opportunity to work at the grassroots level and contribute to rural development across India.

The 13-month fellowship is designed to engage talented and motivated youth with experienced non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in rural areas. The programme aims to promote leadership skills and provide exposure to real challenges faced by rural communities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions:

Nationality: Indian citizens are eligible. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and citizens of Bhutan and Nepal can also apply.

Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 32 years of age at the time of application.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. The degree must be completed before the fellowship begins on October 4, 2026.
Areas of Work
Selected fellows are placed in rural regions across various states. They work in 12 key sectors, including education, healthcare, environmental protection, livelihood, rural entrepreneurship and women empowerment. The programme focuses on developing leadership qualities while encouraging social responsibility.
Financial Support and Benefits
SBI Foundation provides comprehensive financial assistance during the fellowship period:

Monthly Stipend: ₹16,000 for living expenses.

Travel Allowance: ₹2,000 per month for local travel.

Completion Benefit: A lump sum re-adjustment allowance of ₹1,10,000 upon successful completion of the fellowship.

Insurance: Personal accident and health insurance coverage.
Fellows also receive a certificate at the end of the programme, which can support future academic or professional pursuits.
