Thiruvananthapuram, September 15 (Udaipur Kiran) : The Malayalapuza police in Kerala have arrested a man accused of defrauding multiple individuals by falsely promising them visas to foreign countries. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Remo Savio Koria, was apprehended near the Ernakulam Law College on Market Road.
Koria allegedly deceived victims by offering to secure visas and jobs in Canada, Australia, and various European nations, leading to losses amounting to millions of rupees. Reports indicate that he collected ₹325,000 from a young man in Malayalapuza under the pretense of obtaining a work visa for Canada, but failed to deliver either the visa or the job. This transaction took place in December 2022, prompting the victim to file a complaint with the Malayalapuza police when neither the visa nor a refund was forthcoming.
Following the filing of complaints against him, Koria attempted to evade capture by hiding in various locations. However, after extensive searches, the Malayalapuza police successfully located and arrested him in Ernakulam. The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Shan NS, along with officers D’Cruiz, Srigeet Prakash, and Gopakumar. Koria has since been presented in court and remanded into custody.
