According to police, complainant Prasanta Biswas, resident of Housing Board area in Chanderiya, Chittorgarh, stated that his son Priyanshu Biswas has been studying BTech in Udaipur for the past three years and lives in the college hostel.

The complaint alleged that around two years ago, an active gang operating in Udaipur trapped Priyanshu in online gaming and betting activities and gradually made him addicted. The accused allegedly contacted him and provided money on heavy interest while encouraging him to continue online gaming.

The complainant stated that about a year ago, the accused had taken away an expensive branded laptop belonging to Priyanshu from his hostel. After that incident, the student had reportedly distanced himself from such activities for nearly a year.

However, the accused allegedly contacted him again recently, lured him back into online gaming and created mental pressure. The complainant alleged that the accused later took away a newly purchased laptop and motorcycle from the student’s hostel.

Due to mental stress, Priyanshu returned from Udaipur to his home in Chanderiya on May 23 and reportedly started isolating himself from family members. After repeated questioning, he informed his family about the matter. Under stress, he allegedly consumed toilet cleaner kept at home in an attempt to end his life.

After his health deteriorated, family members admitted him to Shri Sawaliyaji Hospital in Chittorgarh for treatment.

The complainant further alleged that a report regarding an earlier incident had been submitted at Pratap Nagar police station a year ago, but no action was taken against the accused. The complaint was initially filed in Chittorgarh and later transferred to Udaipur through a zero FIR, following which a case was registered.
