Madrid, October 28 (Udaipur Kiran) — Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over FC Barcelona came at a heavy cost, as club captain and defender Dani Carvajal has suffered a serious knee injury.

In an official statement released on Monday, the club confirmed, “Medical tests conducted on our captain Dani Carvajal have revealed a loose fragment in his right knee joint.” The statement further added that Carvajal will undergo arthroscopic surgery soon.
The injury is expected to sideline the Spanish international for around two months, meaning he could remain out of action until early 2026.
Carvajal, 33, had only recently returned to the field after recovering from a muscle injury that kept him out for nearly a month. He made his comeback as a second-half substitute in the El Clásico clash against Barcelona.
The veteran right-back had already missed a significant portion of the 2024–25 season due to a ligament tear in the same knee and had just begun competing again for the right-back position with new signing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Interestingly, Alexander-Arnold himself has only recently returned from a muscle injury, which earlier forced coach Xabi Alonso to deploy Uruguayan midfielder Fede Valverde as a makeshift right-back in a few matches.
