Hotel Association Seeks Tourism Master Plan, Better Parking Facilities in Udaipur
Udaipur, October 6 (Udaipur Kiran): A delegation of the Hotel Association Udaipur met Tourism Department Joint Director Sumita Saroch on Tuesday and discussed various issues related to tourism development in Udaipur. The delegation also presented several suggestions aimed at giving a new direction to tourism development in the city.
Tourism Master Plan and Parking Facilities
Hotel Association Udaipur Secretary Vikas Porwal said the delegation, led by President Rajesh Agrawal, demanded a comprehensive tourism master plan for Udaipur keeping future requirements in mind. The association suggested that development of tourist destinations, infrastructure, traffic management and adequate parking facilities for tourists should be given priority under the plan.
The delegation also suggested developing new tourist destinations around Udaipur and creating adventure zones to promote adventure tourism. It said this would provide new attractions for visitors and could also increase their stay in the city.
Rajiv Gandhi Park Development Proposed
The association also demanded that Rajiv Gandhi Park be developed as a world-class garden. The delegation noted that the Udaipur Development Authority has recently renovated Nehru Garden attractively. It suggested that Rajiv Gandhi Park could also be developed on similar lines to create a new attraction for tourists in the city.
Night Food Court and Public Toilets
During the meeting, the delegation suggested developing a night food court in the city to provide tourists and local residents with better food and entertainment facilities after evening hours.
The Hotel Association also highlighted the need for modern public toilets in Udaipur. It demanded improvement in the condition of existing public toilets and construction of dedicated toilets for women, particularly in major market areas.
More Tourism Promotion Through Digital Platforms
The association urged the Tourism Department to further expand promotion of tourist destinations in Udaipur and other parts of Rajasthan. It suggested using social media platforms, travel bloggers, digital creators and other modern channels to strengthen the branding and promotion of Rajasthan’s tourism destinations.
More City Buses and Extension to Nathdwara
The delegation demanded an increase in the number of city buses operating between Udaipur city and Dabok Airport. It said better public transport connectivity between the airport and the city would be highly useful for tourists.
The delegation also welcomed the extension of the Municipal Corporation’s electric bus service to Eklingji and suggested extending the service further to Nathdwara. This would provide tourists visiting Udaipur with convenient and accessible public transport to Nathdwara for visiting the Shrinathji temple.

Joint Director Sumita Saroch responded positively to the suggestions made by the delegation. She said necessary facilities and arrangements should be given attention so that tourists coming from outside do not face any inconvenience.
