Udaipur, October 6 (Udaipur Kiran): The district administration has directed printing press operators to strictly follow Election Commission guidelines while publishing and printing election-related posters, pamphlets, booklets and other printed material for the Panchayati Raj Elections 2026. Strict action will be taken for violations of provisions under the Representation of the People Act.

A meeting of printing press operators was held at the Collectorate Mini Auditorium under the direction of District Election Officer Gaurav Agrawal and chaired by ADM City Jitendra Ojha.

Panchayati Raj Elections

Printer and Publisher Details Mandatory

During the meeting, printing press operators were informed that the name and address of the concerned printer and publisher must be clearly mentioned while printing election-related material.

Before printing any election booklet, poster or other material, printers must obtain the prescribed declaration from the publisher. Copies of the printed material and the declaration must also be submitted to the concerned authorities within the prescribed time limit.

As per the directions of the State Election Commission, no election booklet or poster can be printed or published unless the name and address of its printer and publisher are mentioned on the front page.

The administration also made it clear that material intended to influence or adversely affect the election of any candidate or political party must not be printed. Any violation of provisions related to the printing of election material will be treated seriously, and action will be taken against the concerned printer and publisher as per rules.

Latika Paliwal and Dr Mahamayaprasad Chaubisa were also present at the meeting on behalf of the administration.

Notices to Printing Press Operators Who Were Absent

ADM Jitendra Ojha directed that notices be issued to printing press operators who remained absent from the meeting. He said that despite repeated information, some operators fail to attend such meetings and violate the prescribed rules.

He also directed the concerned team to conduct a detailed inspection of banners and posters used during the recently concluded municipal elections and take action as per rules against publishers and printers found violating the prescribed provisions.

Ojha also said that surprise inspections of all printing presses would be conducted during the election period to ensure compliance with election-related printing rules.
