Jaipur, January – A bright sunny day brought much-needed relief from the biting cold across Rajasthan, as daytime temperatures rose by 2 to 9 degrees Celsius in several cities. The state witnessed its coldest night in Nagaur, where the temperature plummeted to 3°C, while dense fog continued to disrupt visibility in parts of the state during the morning hours.

Significant Temperature Increase Across Cities
The maximum temperature saw a notable rise, particularly in Dausa, which recorded the highest jump of 8.9°C. In Jaipur, the temperature increase was equally significant, with the daytime high climbing by 7.4°C to settle at 26.8°C, while the nighttime low rose by 2.1°C to 7.7°C.
In other parts of the state, Jalore registered the warmest day with a maximum temperature of 30.1°C, while Barmer recorded the warmest night at 11.4°C. However, chilly nights continued in 23 cities, with minimum temperatures remaining below 10°C.
Fog and Visibility Challenges
Dense fog impacted visibility in the morning hours across eastern and western Rajasthan, with visibility levels dropping to 100–150 meters in Jaipur and nearby rural areas. This caused difficulties for commuters, particularly in regions with heavy vehicular traffic.
Weather Outlook: January 4-5
According to Radhey Shyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, a weak western disturbance is expected to become active over the state on January 4-5. Its partial impact might result in cloudy skies and light drizzle in parts of the Bikaner division. However, the first week of January is likely to experience below-average rainfall.

The highest daytime temperature was recorded in Jalore (30.1°C), while Barmer experienced the warmest night (11.4°C).
